We are quite merciless. Stalwarts not so long ago have become warts. There is no substitute to technique which only Dravid, Jaffer and Tendulkar possess. Venugopal Rao is another guy with good technique who needs to be given as long a run as, say, Raina.

I've been very guarded in choosing my victims. I've 'warted' only consistently inconsistent cricketers. Technique is one thing, and temperament totally another- and Sachin seems to have lost the old confidence. At one time he used to bring assurance to the crease; now he brings only hope.
